Midcentury 1960s Tall Stag ‘Cantata’ Teak Chest of Drawers by Ron Carter
Ron Carter followed on from celebrated design duo, John and Sylvia Reid, at British manufacturer, Stag, in 1965 and designed for the brand into the 1970s. He continued their legacy of creating popular, affordable but stylish furniture, matching good quality and modern home design. With seven spacious drawers and his signature contoured round handles, this tall boy chest of drawers is an ever-practical piece, offering lots of storage space and in very good order. It’s very well made with a design that has stood the test of time, dating from the latter part of the 1960s. A fine British midcentury piece.

Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied to the external wood. The drawers all slide with ease, are beautifully made with dovetail joints and are clean and tidy inside. The exterior wood is overall in very good order with minor knocks and scuffs here and there. There are some chips to the veneer at the bottom of the left side (see our photo) and a small area has been filled at the bottom of the right side. However, these are minimal and because of where they are, are not really noticeable. They certainly don’t detract from the appeal and use of the piece in our view. There is an official Stag maker’s mark can be seen on the side of the top drawer. Please browse our photos for a good sense of this item’s condition.
