Set of Four Vintage Ercol Windsor Model 370 Chairs

Acquired and sold as a matching set of four, these Windsor model 370 dining chairs, designed and made by Ercol from the 1960s onwards, are a change from the more common four spindle, model 400 Windsors as they come with six back spindles and a slightly wider seat too for greater comfort. Featuring Ercol’s trademark curved-wood loop, they are a combination of solid beech and elm blond woods. They were designed with good looks and comfort in mind and with their more generous proportions, these are probably the most comfortable Ercol diners of the lot! This set dates from the 1970s and is in very sound order.

Description

These original, vintage chairs are ‘sold as seen’. They are in very good, used condition. We have lightly cleaned and polished the chairs using a natural beeswax, but have carried out no further work as the original finish is in very good order. They are extremely well made in solid elm and beech, as you would expect from Ercol, sturdy and solid with no wobbles or signs of repair. There are minor dents, scratches and and scuffs from use and in line with their age – please browse our photos to get a good sense of their condition. The blue ‘Made in England’ sticker can be found on the back of the chairs, and they also have all their cushion poppers underneath the seats. They date from the 1970s.
