Set of Four Midcentury Teak Dining Chairs by Dalescraft – Newly Reupholstered

A super set of four classic, midcentury dining chairs, freshly restored and ready for a new home. Manufactured by Dalescraft, you can see the Scandinavian influence in the design – they are similar to a great many Danish dining chairs of the period. The frames are simple and elegant with a compact depth, and we have brought them up to date with new seat pad upholstery. They have been restored with new foam and fabric, a mixed weave of green-greys dotted with subtle flecks of colour and a herringbone pattern. The fabric is an official Harris Tweed pure wool that’s very stylish and suits the tones of the wood well.

Description

This set of four original, vintage chairs is ‘sold as seen’. They are in good – very good, used condition. The frames have been checked, cleaned and a neutral, natural wax polish applied to their wood but otherwise the original finish has been left alone. They carry minor, superficial scuffs and marks here and there but this wear and tear is light and in line with their age. Do browse our photos for an accurate sense of this. The seat pads have been reupholstered with new foam and fabric, a handsome herringbone of official Harris Tweed pure wool.  The chairs are solid and sturdy with no wobbles. Sadly we’ve not been able to definitively attribute these chairs but they are British in origin and date from the 1960s / early 1970s. Although no maker’s label, they were acquired with an accompanying Dalescraft table and looking at other documented chair designs, we believe them to be too.
