Set of Four 1970s Danish Bentwood Stacking Chairs
If you’re a fan of mix and match style with a soft spot for industrial design, this set of four Danish bent ply stacking chairs in fantastic original condition will certainly appeal. They are ideal as family dining chairs, as occasional chairs for when extra guests arrive, or even as patio chairs in the summer for al fresco evenings. These curvaceous chairs are constructed out of one piece of bent beech plywood and are in incredibly good order, with both the plywood seat and chrome frame being in very good original condition. We like their silhouette very much and we like too that they are full size chairs – often stacking chairs are smaller. And of course they can be neatly stacked away when their work is done.

Description
This original, vintage set of four chairs is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, they are in very good, used condition. The chairs have been lightly cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied to the plywood seat and backs. All of the chairs have plastic feet caps in place. The contoured plywood seats are in really good condition for their age, with only one notable area of damage, as shown in the photographs. Other than this, there are only minor scuffs and marks to the wood. The chrome leg bases are also in very good condition and the chairs are solidly made, sturdy and robust with no repairs or wobbles. There are rubber stoppers underneath the chairs to stop them rubbing when stacked. Sadly there is no maker’s mark on the base of the seats but these were imported directly from Denmark and date from the 1970s.
