Restored Midcentury Danish Single Spotlight Floor Lamp
In over hundreds of vintage spotlight restorations, we’ve not come across a lamp quite like this. With its rounded, closed end and softly contoured shape, it’s the black metal side loop that adds an unusual and quirky note of distinction, giving it a silhouette that looks more like something from a brass band! A cornet perhaps? This striking spotlight, finished in a matt dark brown with a white inner, sits on a tall black stem where it can be angled and height-adjusted with its screw arm. It will add a touch of vintage style to any room from lounge to bedroom. Carefully restored with new wiring in braided, black fabric coated flex, this vintage lighting has been brought up to date for today’s homes.
Description
This original, vintage floor lamp is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition and has been fully restored with care and expertise. The lamp has been rewired with new, black fabric-braided flex, an energy efficient bulb, a new independent switch and plug, and it has PAT tested to meet modern regulations. The spotlight can be rotated and it can be height-adjusted on the main stem too, using the original screw arm. All these elements are in very good working order. As you can see from our photos, the metalwork carries minor tarnishes and scratches, particularly so on the weighted base but this as you might expect with a vintage piece. Indeed, they are part of its history and charm. Sadly there is no maker’s mark but this is a lamp acquired from Denmark, dating from the early seventies.
