Repurposed & Fully Restored Vintage Philips Table Lamp
Originally a heat lamp, we have repurposed this unusual, frog-like vintage item into a stylish, quirky table lamp. Made by Phillips in the 1960s, all the parts are original apart from the new light fitting inside. It’s been sensitively restored to retain the wonderful retro design and keep as many of the components in place. We have added red fabric-coated flex which complements the steel grey, silver and black of the lamp and adds a contemporary finish. The lam phead can be moved up and down within its metal legs which would make this an ideal light for the bedside or a reading corner. A fantastic piece of repurposing by Karl, making an obsolete vintage item functional in today’s world.
Description
This original vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent, used condition and has been repurposed and fully restored. The old heat element has been completely removed and a new, modern light fitting and bulb fitted. The lamp has been rewired with new flex and PAT tested to meet modern regulations. There are some minor tarnishes and marks to the lamp head as you might expect with a vintage piece but these are minor and don’t in any way detract from the appeal of the piece.
