Authentic 1970s Midcentury Poseable Red Desk Lamp – Fully Restored

This 1970s, pillar-box red desk lamp with a poseable stem would be a jolly adornment any desk or reading corner. Its design has bags of character and charm. We like the exaggerated, conical spotlight head and we like the oversized white switch button and matching white trim on the domed base. Fully restored with fabric coated, braided flex and modern, compliant fittings, it’s been PAT tested too – this little chap is raring to go!

Description

This original, vintage desk lamp is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition and has been fully restored with care and expertise. The lamp has been rewired with new, black fabric-braided flex, an energy efficient bulb and a new plug. It has PAT tested to meet modern regulations. The spotlight can be angled by bending the stem and the switch can be seen on the base. As you can see from our photos, the metalwork carries some very minor dents and scratches, as you might expect with a vintage piece but these don’t in any way detract from the appeal of the piece. There os sadly no maker’s mark but the original fitting and wiring leads us to believe it hails from 1970s.
