Rare Large Vintage Ercol Extending Windsor Dining Table

A glorious piece of design, superbly crafted as you would expect, by renowned British furniture maker, Ercol. This is a very large dining table indeed and a rare find too. And it’s no wonder they don’t come on the market very often as they are held onto by generations of families – they just don’t make timeless furniture like this anymore. In its most compact configuration, it’s a medium dining table which comfortably seats six. Release the catches underneath to slide it out to its full capacity, inserting the double extension, and it grows to over 2.2m in length, able to seat ten people. And when the dinner party is done, the folding extension section slots neatly back underneath the table, ready for next time. It’s made with an elm top and beech tapered legs. It was part of Ercol’s Windsor range so features the signature soft table edge. The patination on the table top is beautiful and the star of the show – it’s in excellent condition and has clearly been taken good care of. A fine piece of British-made furniture that will hold its value and keep giving for many years to come.
