Pair of Vintage Erik Buch Oak Dining Chairs
A simply stunning pair of vintage Erik Buch carver dining chairs in solid light oak. Manufactured by O.D. Møbler Denmark and featuring his ‘floating’ seat and contoured back, these two are design classics. Upholstered in a crowd-pleasing, mid-grey wool tweed which complements the wood perfectly, they are extremely comfortable and will mix with other styles of dining chair.
These chairs have now sold but do take a look at our current range of seating!
Highly collectable, these are dining chairs are elegant and playful in equal measure. There is a softness and flow to the angles and lines, and we love how the joint finishes have been made a defining feature of Buch’s design. The original maker’s label is affixed to the bottom of both chairs.
They are in excellent vintage condition. We believe they have been newly upholstered in recent times – the wool upholstery is in immaculate condition, both on the seats and the back rests. There are some minor rub marks / scuffs on the wood, primarily on the lower legs, but these are very minimal.
It should be noted that one joint dowel cap is missing. This is on the lower part of the chair and therefore isn’t noticeable until it’s pointed it. We’ve not replaced it ourselves simply because we don’t feel it necessary but it would be an easy thing to remedy if it irked. We’ve reflected this small missing piece in the price.
