Pair of Large Danish Midcentury Dining Chairs Restored in Orange Wool
Newly restored in a smart, deep orange wool, this pair of vintage Danish chairs have a striking silhouette from all sides. Frustratingly we’ve been unable to find out the designer – there’s clearly influence from Wegner’s Getama range but we can’t attribute them directly to him. With sharp lines and angles offset by the curves of the soft upholstery, they are an beautifully balanced piece of design. They are also generous with their proportions, particularly the seat width, making these ideal dining or study chairs where you might be sat for some time.
Description
These original chairs are ‘sold as seen’. They are in overall very good-excellent, vintage condition. The wooden frame has been thoroughly cleaned and given the wood a light beeswax finish. There are some marks and knocks on the wood and one of the arms is a little worn on the underside but this isn’t visible, and this light wear and tear is in line with their age. We have had them professionally reupholstered them in a new deep orange pure wool. We can see no repairs and the chairs are solid and sturdy. Sadly there is no maker’s mark which is a shame for such a striking pair. Please browse our photos for an accurate sense of the overall superb condition.
