Pair of Ercol Model 365 Quaker Dining Chairs including a Carver
These tall, arched ‘Quaker’ chairs are amongst the most elegant of Ercol’s extensive dining chair range and are some of their most popular in our experience. They were originally produced from the late 1950s to the mid 1980s. Made from solid elm and beech ‘blond’ woods with five-spindled backs and a generous seat height, these wider seat models offer much comfort and support. This pair is comprised of a regular dining chair and carver. There are some minor knocks here and there but they’re in great original condition.
These are original, vintage chairs that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in good – very good, used condition. They have been cleaned and a neutral, natural wax polish applied but otherwise their original finish has been left alone as it’s in such good order. Both chairs have aged-related scuffs and marks as you would expect with vintage dining chairs but they are solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. We’ve shown in our pictures an area where the wood has dried out a little causing a faint crack on the top bend of the carver. This area is stable, just aging. It also isn’t noticeable but in the interests of transparency we wanted to flag it. The Ercol stickers are affixed to the back of both seats and the original Ercol stamp can be seen on the underside, along with poppers, there to secure cushion pads in place. We believe these chairs date from the 1970s.
