Pair of Ercol Model 365 ‘Quaker’ Carver Dining Chairs
These tall, arched ‘Quaker’ chairs are amongst the most elegant of Ercol’s extensive dining chair range and are some of their most popular in our experience – they never stick around long! They were originally produced from the late 1950s to the mid 1980s. Made from solid British elm and beech ‘blond’ woods with five-spindled backs and a generous seat height, these wider seat models offer much comfort and support. This pair is comprised of two carver dining chairs. There are some minor knocks here and there to the factory finish but overall they’re in great original condition. Obviously originally intended for the head of the dining table, these models with arms also serve well as occasional seats in hallways, studies, family rooms, bedrooms, as well as being supportive desk chairs.

These are original, vintage chairs that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in very good, used condition. They have been cleaned and a neutral, natural wax polish applied but otherwise their original finish has been left alone as it’s in such good order. Both chairs have aged-related scuffs and marks to their finish as you would expect with vintage dining chairs but they are solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. The main areas where the finish has worn are the arm tops and the top of the curved back. One of the chair seats has a very small blemish in the wood grain – a light mark around 8mm in length. Please refer to our photos – it’s barely noticeable but in the interests of transparency we wanted to flag this. The remnants of the Ercol sticker can be vaguely seen on the back of one of the chairs but both are stamped underneath and have the poppers in place if you wished to add your own seat pads. We believe these chairs date from the 1970s.
