Pair of Early 1950s Ercol Model 139 Dining Chairs
This pair of Ercol dining chairs were made specifically between 1951-1959. We know this because they are not CC41 stamped but the seat shape tells us they pre-date the early 1960’s Windsor chair design, characterised by its softer, rounder edges. Given their considerable years, they are in fantastic order, a testament to the quality of Ercol’s superior construction and design. These have undergone a full, but careful restoration. Ercol furniture is truly timeless and lasts for generations, and that’s why it’s still so coveted today.
Description
These are original vintage dining chairs that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in very good, used condition and they have been restored. They have been cleaned and lightly sanded to remove marks and scuffs, and then oiled, waxed and polished with care taken to ensure the original integrity of the pieces isn’t compromised. As you would expect from Ercol, the chairs are superbly crafted, solid and stable with no wobbles. Sadly the maker’s stickers, usually found on the back of the chair seat, are no longer in place but the Ercol quality stamp can be seen on the underside of the seat. Please browse our pictures for an accurate sense of their condition.
