Original Vintage Norwegian Tall Bentwood Chair in Orange Tan Leather
A smart, stylish Norwegian bentwood chair with bags of vintage charm and retro cool. It dates from the 1970’s and has much left to offer in the modern home. With its soft, supple orange tan leather and its angled bentwood frame, it’s a really comfortable seat, offering great support. These bentwood chairs with their floating, flowing frames are as architectural as they are practical with their dynamic silhouette from all sides and this is a fine example.
This is a used, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. We would describe it as in good-very good condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and leather nourished. It’s soft and supple. There are some creases and minor marks on the leather but these are very minimal. The canvas under the leather cushions is a little sunlight faded particularly at the back. Where the canvas is secured to the bentwood frame with wide leather straps, there are some minor strains at the seams (see our photo) but we don’t feel this compromises the chair’s function in anyway. It’s a vintage, used piece so we feel this is reasonable wear to be expected. Although no maker’s label affixed anymore, our experience tells us it was mostly likely made by Westnofa. The original alum key and assembly leaflet is still with the chair.
