Original Vintage G Plan Fresco Teak Sideboard

This particular vintage G Plan sideboard, designed by VB Wilkins in the 1960’s as part of the ‘Fresco’ range, is one of our favourite designs as it’s neater and more compact than others. Combining practical storage space – and lots of it- with beautiful wood and craftsmanship became a hallmark of G Plan back in the day. Although there’s no mistaking its midcentury heritage, its style is neutral enough to mix in easily with more contemporary furniture or mixed style interiors.

Description

This is an original piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good, used condition. We have cleaned the sideboard and applied wax polish. All three drawers slide with ease. There is a large, double-handled central drawer that’s baize-lined and feature cutlery dividers that can be moved /removed. The original lining is worn and marked in places as shown in the photo. The two smaller side cupboards both have a height-adjustable shelf with all shelfs pegs present. The central double-door cupboard also features a height-adjustable shelf with all pegs present. There are ring marks from stowed bottles (the middle section was used as a drinks cabinet) on the internal woodwork shown in the photo. There are also some minor marks on the external wood just below the double cupboard doors. Again, please refer to our photo. All doors open ease and the closures are in good order. We can see no repairs and the sideboard is solid and sturdy. As you would expect from G Plan is a very well-made piece. There are some minor scuffs and scratches from use here and there to the exterior wood but nothing specific to call out. The original G Plan label can be seen inside the door. Please browse our photos for an accurate sense of the overall superb condition.
