Stunning Vintage Danish Bentwood & Brown Leather Armchair

This midcentury bentwood leather lounge chair has had us scratching our heads. It’s such a statement design and its construction and materials are of the highest quality… and yet we’ve failed to attribute it. The maker’s mark is long gone but we simply can’t find anything with that unusual leather strapping design across its back. The back is as interesting and as handsome as the front in our view, with some fantastic details. Don’t stick this chair in the corner! It should be enjoyed from all sides. It’s not just about the looks though, this is really comfy from the tall, contoured back providing maximum support to the soft, thick leather cushions to the generous seat depth and width to the plump arm rests.

This is an original, used chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good , vintage condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and the leather nourished with a natural, neutral balm. The single sectioned seat cushion is held in place with cord that ties through the frame. The cushion is in very good order with soft, supple leather, secure buttons, a working zip and plump inners. There are wrinkles and surface marks but these are in line with how leather wears through use and is very much part of its character. Please refer to our photos to get a true sense of this.  The two leather arm rests are in very good order too. The canvas under the cushion is in excellent order as are the strapping and fixtures. The dark wood bentwood frame is solid and stable with only very light surface marks here and there. Sadly and frustratingly there is no maker’s label but this is a very fine quality chair. Please do browse our photos for a good sense of its super condition and colour.
