Original Midcentury McIntosh Extending Dining Table

Based in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, AH McKintosh was heavily influenced by the midcentury Scandinavian design scene and you can appreciate that on this oval dining table, with its seamless flow and refined legs. They made beautifully crafted furniture, using high quality wood and their pieces have stood the test of time. This dining table dates from the 1960’s and in its ‘day’ mode, it’s a smart, circular table that can comfortably seat four. It extends with a cleverly engineered central panel to accommodate 6-8 diners, creating a generous oval.  There is a neat, professional repair to an area of veneer and although visible, it doesn’t detract from what is otherwise an outstanding piece of British midcentury design.

Description

This is an original piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good, used condition but it does comes with a professional repair. There is a small area where the top veneer has been replaced. As you can appreciate from our photos it does show. This repair is reflected in our price and as such means we can offer this outstanding table for around half of the market value. The table has been cleaned and wax polished. The extending central mechanism worked with ease and is in excellent order.  There are some minor scuffs and scratches from use here and there but nothing specific to call out. The original McIntosh of Kirkcaldy label is affixed underneath. Please browse our photos for an accurate sense of the overall superb condition.
