Original Ercol Vintage Model 477 Armchair in Bold Print
Immediately recognisable as Ercol, this Model 477 armchair in light blond wood is the perfect easy chair. Its open wooden frame looks handsome from all sides and make is less bulky and cumbersome than more traditional lounge chairs. It’s in exceptional condition with hardly any signs of wear, both on the frame and on the cushions. And those cushions are a joy in a bold, statement floral fabric. These chairs work in any room in the modern home from boudoir to conservatory to family room to lounge.
This is an original, used piece that is ‘sold as seen’. This armchair has been very well looked after and is in outstanding vintage condition. We have lightly cleaned and polished the wood with beeswax. The two upholstered cushions in a bold, floral print are in excellent order with plump inner foams, working zips and no marks. It’s worth noting that if the fabric isn’t to your taste, the bespoke cushions themselves are in excellent condition (it’s been reupholstered in recent years) and could be recovered, a significant time and cost saving. If you research ‘Ercol cushions’ you will see these alone command a high price. The blond wood frame only shows only the lightest wear and tear, as you would expect on the arm ends and a small area on the arm stem. It’s solid and sutrdy with no signs of repair. The original Pirelli webbing underneath is in excellent condition too. The blue Ercol sticker is still affixed to the back of the chair and dates it to the 1960s/70s. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of its immaculate condition.
