Original Danish Midcentury Brown Leather Swivel Chair
A really fine example of the classic, Danish leather swivel chair, this brown leather one dates from the 1970s and is in excellent condition. It’s been thoughtfully designed with some super details like the winged arms and the perfect tilt for maximum comfort. And of course swivel chairs are a lot of indulgent lounging fun. Every home should have one!
Description
This is an original, vintage chair that are ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the chair and applied a nourishing leather balm. The cushions are in excellent order with plump inners and working zips. The fixed leather upholstery on the main frame has some minor signs of wear and tear as you would expect with a piece of this age, and with vintage leather. There is a small nick on one of the arm rests, shown in our photos. This isn’t a hole or a tear but more like a small crack. As you can see this isn’t particularly noticeable. There is a little colour fading primarily on the ‘corners’ at the arm ends and top back of the chair. The chair is solid and sturdy, and we can see so repairs or issues with the structure. The swivel base rotates with ease and we believe this was added at a later point, although the base is an original 1970’s addition. This is commonly seen on Danish chairs – legs were unscrewed and a swivel base added, almost as an upgrade. Sadly there is no maker’s mark but it’s imported directly from Denmark and we believe it to date from the 1970s. Please refer to our photos for good sense of their excellent condition.
