Original Danish Hurup Mobler Black Leather Large Three Seater Sofa
This large, handsome, late vintage, attributed Danish sofa is a wonder couch! It’s in great condition, beautifully designed with low and lean good looks. Made by Hurup Mobler, this sofa design, inspired by Borge Morgensen, never goes out of style. It’s a timeless classic and this sofa will partner well with other midcentury pieces or indeed, seating from different periods. It’s also a really versatile couch for a family space where black leather is a hardwearing, practical choice. With generous proportions, this is perfect for sprawling out if you get it to yourself, or there’s room for all even the dog, side by side.
Description
This original, vintage sofa is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in very good, used condition. All eight cushions are in fantastic order with plump inners and working zips. One of the back cushions has a small dimple on its surface – please see our photo. In our experience, over time and with use it will even out. It’s not very noticeable nor does it detract from the appeal of the sofa. The fixed upholstery on the main frame is also in very good order with no areas of concern. Overall the wear and tear is light / minimal and confined to the sofa’s corners and cushion front edges. There are some light surface scratches which you can see up close on one of the back cushions. Again, refer to our photos. The frame itself is solid and stable with no wobbles or joint concerns. It’s very well-made from an established, highly regarded Danish furniture manufacturer, Hurup Mobler, although the maker’s mark is no longer on the side end, and we believe it dates from the 1990s.
