Original 1970’s Farstrup Mobler Bentwood Chair in Brown Leather

A low-rise bentwood chair that hails from 1970’s Denmark and we believe is attributed to Farstrup Mobler. These chairs are super comfortable and work in the modern home as standalone seats or partnered with other lounge furniture. Their fluid, ‘open’ form means they are significantly less cumbersome than a more conventional lounge chair. And of course, vintage leather is a practical choice for the busy household.

These is a used piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in fair-good vintage condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and the tan brown leather nourished. The leather is soft, supple and in good order. The bentwood frame itself is sturdy and solid but there are knocks, scuffs and some areas of fading, as you might expect with a vintage piece. There are some particular areas to note on the frame. The front two legs have sustained moisture damage at the feet at some point (the chair was possibly stored in a damp shed). This can be seen in our close up photos. The issue is purely aesthetic and doesn’t affect the stability or function of the chair. In addition to this, the canvas underneath the leather cushion is rather faded at the back and furthermore, there is a little, light pulling to the finishing fabric on the back of the leather cushion. This is stable and isn’t likely to deteriorate greatly further but in the interests if transparency we wanted to flag these areas. This wear has been reflected in the price we are marketing this piece at. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of the condition. Although no maker’s mark we believe this to be made by Farstrup Mobler, Denmark.
