Original 1970’s Bent Karlby for A Schrøder-Kemi Table Lamp

What an exceptional find this piece is. An original, 1970’s, plexiglass table lamp, designed by Bent Karlby for Ask Belysninger (A. Schrøder-Kemi). The dramatic, forest green and white cubist lamphead is mounted on a curved chrome arm. The arm itself can be gently moved from side to side, and the lamp is adjustable so the light can be directed. The lamp sits on a heavy, black cast iron base. A supremely handsome table lamp that deserves to be centre of attention, this is a collector’s piece, the likes of which rarely become available.

Description

This piece is in near-flawless condition – it’s clearly been loved and taken great care of. There is some very minor, superficial scratches to the perspex but as you can see from the photos, they are barely visible. The matt black metal base gives weight for stability and all the movable joints are in good condition, moving freely. The original maker’s label is still affixed inside the lampshade.

This light has been refurbished and PAT tested. As part of the refurbishment process it has been updated for the modern home, with a UK plug and supplied with a bright, energy efficient LED light bulb.
