Original 1960’s Vintage G Plan ‘Fresco’ Sideboard

Designed by Victor Wilkins for G Plan in the 1960’s as part of their ever-popular ‘Fresco’ range, this is such a useful item of furniture. It offers so much storage space with three large cupboards, each featuring and adjustable shelf, and three generous drawers, one sectioned for cutlery. This one that we’ve been lucky enough to acquire is in exceptional condition. It’s clearly been loved and looked after. We particularly like the subtle colour and pattern variance in the wood, where it’s expertly joined in different directions. Wilkins knew how to make the wood the star of the show.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in excellent condition. We have thoroughly cleaned and polished this piece. All doors and drawers open and close with ease and align as they should. The central drawer features removeable dividers and is lined with velvet, originally meant for cutlery. The three cupboards each feature an adjustable shelf and all support pegs are present. The top surface has some very light scratches and some patches of faint fading around the edges. There is a minimal chip to one of the top side edges but this isn’t particularly noticeable. Structurally the piece is very solid and sturdy. The maker’s label is affixed inside one of the doors. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of the condition of this sideboard.
