Original 1960’s Danish Wooden Rocking Chair in Striped Wool

This rocking chair is a vintage delight. It originates from 1960’s Denmark and although a more traditional design, it has considerable charm and would be as at home in a bedroom or bathroom as it would fireside or in a cosy snug. We think it’s the perfect seat for listening to your old vinyl! The original wool upholstery with central stripes of black and sage green is in amazing condition and the edges are finished with green braid. If you turn the chair over you can glimpse the wonderful craftsmanship of the upholsterer underneath. A beautiful piece that mixes traditional country design with a splash of midcentury that would still look perfectly at home in a modern setting.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent used condition with minor signs of wear and tear. The wooden frame has been thoroughly cleaned and waxed, but we have opted not to sand the original finish off as we love the slightly worn patina. The frame is structurally sound, stable and comfortable, although there are some superficial marks. The original upholstery is in excellent order. We have gently cleaned the fabric. There are the faintest marks from use here and there if you look very closely but these really aren’t noticeable as you will see from our photos. Refer to our photos to see the super condition of the fine rocking chair.
