Original 1950s Ercol Windsor Model 383 Drop Leaf Plank Dining Table
An iconic piece of British mid-century design from Lucian Ercolani in flawless, original condition and these drop-leaf plank tables are a rare find nowadays. Made between 1957 – 1972, this beautiful blonde wood table features a elm top and beech splayed legs. Ercol tables are characterised by their softly tapered, elm wood table top that gently slopes off. There is no hard edge or angles at the sides. And of course the patina of the elm is simply outstanding on this particular one. A timeless design that never goes out of fashion, an Ercol piece of furniture is for life.
Description
This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in excellent, used condition. We have carefully restored this table with process that’s not too invasive to ensure the original patina and integrity is maintained. This involves light sanding of the table top and legs, natural oil and then wax and polish for a durable finish that’s not dissimilar to the original one. The table leaves extend with Ercol’s signature simple, pull-arms underneath. Both of these move with ease and are in excellent working order. The original pale blue Made in England Ercol sticker is still affixed. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of the sideboard’s fine condition.
