Vintage Midcentury Glass Front Walnut Bookcase by Morris Of Glasgow #2

A beautifully constructed, teak and walnut, glassfronted bookcase and cupboard, made by Morris of Glasgow in the early 1960s. Morris of Glasgow were a renowned Scottish furniture manufacturers, whose prestigious work included designing and manufacturing a bedroom suite for the newly married Queen and Prince Philip in 1947, (the suite still resides at Sandringham castle!) and fitting out the QE2 ocean liner in 1967. This bookcase is part of their ‘Cumbrae’ range of home furniture, characterised by the use of walnut veneer, as well as the exposed external dovetail joints, showing off the solid craftsmanship of the pieces. It has two adjustable bookshelves plus an adjustable shelf in the cupboard. With glass-sliding doors, exposing floating glass shelves, alongside a stunning, striped walnut cupboard door with solid brass knob, this stylish and practical item of midcentury furniture would also fit into a more traditionally-styled space in any room.
