Midcentury Swedish Armchair with Rosewood Legs Reupholstered in Grey Wool
A recently restored Scandinavian, midcentury original armchair with low and lean good looks, and offering superb comfort. With a generous seat depth, the perfect tilt to sink back into and a sprung unit under the seat cushion (a mark of quality), this is a fine lounge chair, brought up to date in recent years with new upholstery in a steely mid grey wool. Wool is well known for its durable and hard-wearing performance on seating and it’s in superb condition with hardly any signs of wear. The cool grey upholstery looks particularly good partnered with the warm tones of the rosewood legs.
Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. Most likely originally leather with a back cushion, the chair has been fully reupholstered in a steely, mid-grey pure wool in recent years and modified with a fixed back. It’s solid and sturdy with no signs of structural repair. The ‘new’ upholstery is in very good order throughout with very few signs of wear at all. The only thing to flag is a little piling on the arm fronts and lower sides. This is reflected in the price. Although the maker’s mark is no longer visible, the design leads us to believe it’s a Swedish DUX midcentury chair. Please browse our photos for an accurate sense of its condition.
