Midcentury Danish Black Leather Westnofa Bentwood Armchair

This is an exceptional chair on all counts – design, comfort, condition and provenance. Made by Westnofa of Denmark in the 1960s, we believe it’s a rare design with its striking, S-shaped bentwood arms as we’ve struggled to find exactly the same model. Whether it was an Ingmar Relling model or not, we’ve been unable to corroborate. Regardless, it’s such a handsome piece that’s tall and supportive with the perfect angle so you sink back into its arms. The black leather partnered with the deep, red wood is a perfect match.  A particularly stylish midcentury piece that will command attention and be loved and used in any room in the modern home.

These is a used, vintage chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent, original condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and the black leather nourished with leather balm. It’s soft and supple, and the fixed cushion is in very good order with plump inners and buttons firmly affixed. The seat cushion has lost its shine a little on the main ‘seat’ area and as you would expect with vintage leather, it’s a a touch wrinkled with use. This is part of the character of lived-in leather. The backing canvas and strapping under the leather is also is excellent order. The wooden frame is structurally sound and sturdy with no signs of repair and is in excellent condition. Overall, this vintage piece is in exceptional order. The original Westnofa sticker is on the frame underneath. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of the exceptional condition.
