Large Vintage Swedish Three Seat Sofa by DUX in Iridescent Green & Gold

We know that the vivid upholstery might polarise opinion but if you’re looking for a bold couch colour and a superbly comfortable sofa, this could be a great option to make a statement. Made by renowned Swedish maker, DUX, the company was founded by celebrated furniture designer, Folke Ohlsson, from America where he worked from the early fifties onward. His designs are characterised by their considered, clean-lined aesthetic and he was a master of creating comfort with his seating, getting the tilt, proportions and contours exactly right, and that’s evident with this large three seater sofa. There is a separate sprung section underneath the three seat cushions which gives buoyancy as you sink back. The seat depth and height have been given careful consideration as well and this combined with the wide arms make this couch very welcoming. The upholstery fabric is extraordinary – an iridescent weave of seagreen and gold that create a sheen which changes from different viewpoints as the light catches it (hence the variance across our photos!). A fine quality Scandinavian piece with great provenance.
