Handsome Vintage Danish Low Swivel Chair in Blue Wool
We don’t often get low swivel chairs – they tend to be tall-backed – but this is a particularly striking model that makes a statement. Imported from Denmark, it dates from the 1960s and is as cool, sleek and stylish as can be. Sharp, chiselled lines and a clean silhouette from all sides, it’s also a lot of fun, sitting on a silver, spinning swivel base! It’s in fantastic condition. The original blue wool upholstery has stood the test of time and there are minimal knocks on those statement wooden arms and side panels. This chair has bags of retro charm and character.
Description
This original, vintage Danish armchair is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition and dates from the late 1960s. We have applied a natural beeswax polish to the wooden sections. The two upholstered cushions are in good order with working zips and plump inners. They have lost a little shape with use, unsurprising given their years, and you could opt to replace the foam inners to give a more structured finish. The fixed upholstery on the chair frame is in very good order with no thinning, fading or marks to call out. There are some knocks and marks on the wooden arms and side panels but nothing that detracts from the chair’s considerable appeal. Please refer to our photos. The swivel mechanism is in good order and rotates with ease. There is a little surface tarnishing to the metal on the base but again, it’s in line with the chair’s age. We can see no visible repairs to the frame or upholstery. It’s in very good overall shape. Sadly there is no visible
