Rare Vintage G Plan Fresco Dressing Table / Desk
This is a fine example of G Plan at its very best, championing the British mid-century design scene. Designed by Victor Wilkins, the man behind their ever-popular Fresco range, this 1960’s teak dressing table is in superb condition. This is rarer, slimline piece and features stylish T-bar legs, instead of the floating top of the larger, more common model. This has an additional central drawer, adding to its practicality. Originally this would have come with a mirror, which we sadly do not have, however these great looking units are more often used as desks these days as they combine elegant looks and compact design, but still have plenty of room for a laptop as well as lots of useful storage space. An iconic piece of British vintage furniture that is becoming harder to find and is much sought-after.
Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good-excellent condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned and polished, and the top has been refinished. It’s an expertly crafted piece of a very high quality construction, featuring dovetail joints and the immediately recognisable Fresco elongated drawer handles. All four main drawers are in very good order inside and they slide with ease. The central drawer is purple velvet lined and also in clean, tidy order. There are some very minor scuffs to the exterior wood in line with the piece’s age but nothing specific to flag – it’s in super condition. The original G Plan sticker can be found inside the top drawer. Please browse our photos for an accurate sense of the condition of this piece.
