Fully Restored Unusual Midcentury Brass Double Spotlight Floor Lamp
Over the hundreds of lamps we’ve restored, we’ve never seen one quite like this and that makes us love it all the more. The spotlights are rather reminiscent of old-fashioned microphones with their pierced mesh openings and their rounded, closed stems. They’re particularly unusual and sit on metal arms with ball joints so the spotlights can be rotated and moved to the perfect position. The floor lamp has been carefully restored with new wiring in braided, gold fabric-coated flex and a double floor switch. It’s ready for the modern home and would fit effortlessly into any room, such is its beautiful design and patina.
Description
This original, vintage floor lamp is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good-excellent, used condition and has been fully restored with care and expertise. The lamp has been rewired with new, gold fabric braided flex, energy efficient bulbs, a floor switch with independent switches for each spotlight, and it has PAT tested to meet modern regulations. As you can see from our photos, the metalwork carries tarnishes and scratches, as you might expect with a vintage piece but these are minor and don’t in any way detract from the appeal of the piece. Indeed, they are part of its history and charm. Sadly there is no maker’s mark but our experience leads us to believe this light most likely hails from Denmark and is an early piece, dating from the sixties.
