Original 1960’s Ercol ‘Windsor’ Plank Drop Leaf Dining Table
An iconic piece of British mid-century design from Lucian Ercolani in flawless, original condition. Made in the 1960s, this beautiful blonde wood table features a elm top and beech splayed legs. These Ercol tables are characterised by their softly tapered, elm wood table top that gently slopes off. There is no hard edge or angle at the sides. This juxtaposed with the sharply angled beech legs, is a playful piece of design of ‘soft and hard’ that works beautifully together. And of course the patina of the elm is simply stunning. A timeless design that never goes out of fashion, an Ercol piece of furniture is for life.
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent, immaculate condition. The table, in its original factory finish, has been wonderfully cared for and looks as good now as it did when it stepped out of the factory 60 or so years ago. We have lightly cleaned and polished the table. The drop leaves are extended with a simple pull mechanism on the underside and these arms moves with ease and are in good order. There are no repairs or signs of damage. The original Ercol sticker can be seen on the underside. With the leaves down, it’s a compact piece that will tuck neatly away. When required it extends to a generous 138cm is length so can comfortably accommodate six diners.
