Danish Vintage ‘Scissor’ Extendable Wall Lamp in Teak With Enamel Shade
A wonderful and quirky example of Danish design and craftsmanship, this extendable ‘Scissor’ lamp, constructed in solid teak with copper metalwork not only looks fantastic but is an incredibly useful and versatile piece of mid-century lighting. Once wall-mounted it can be adjusted by moving from side to side, as well as being able to extend to over one metre using its ingenious ‘scissor’ mechanism. It comes with its original enamel shade in vibrant red. Required and PAT tested this is ready to us in the modern home, as a desk/workshop light, bedside lamp or to extend over a kitchen/dining table.
This vintage, restored floor light is ‘sold as seen’. The overall condition of this very good. The teak is in great condition, has been oiled and the pieces of the scissor mechanism move with no issues. There are some marks and one or two hairline cracks along the wood but nothing that affects the strength or movement of the lamp. The shade is also in very good condition which very few marks or scuffs. There is some wear to the rim of the shade as can be seen in the pictures. The light has been fully rewired with new braided, black fabric-coated flex. It has been PAT-tested and updated for the modern UK home with a single UK 3 amp plug and supplied with a bright, energy efficient LED spotlight bulb. Please refer to our photos for an overall sense of the condition. You will require 2 screws to mount this lamp to the wall.
