Danish Midcentury Green Leather Skippers Møbler Two Seat Sofa
Inject some colour into your lounging with this 1970’s Danish large two seater sofa, made by Skippers Møbler! In a wonderful olive green leather that stands out but isn’t loud, this couch is really comfortable and loungey, and a great choice for a busy family home, where leather is a practical option.
This sofa has now sold but do take a look at our current range of seating!
Designed by Svend Skipper for Skippers Møbler, although there is no maker’s mark affixed, this is a well documented design and so we state with confidence it’s a Skippers Møbler attributed piece. The look of the piece – laid-back, relaxed and loungey – tells you exactly how it feels to sit on. It’s a super sofa with lots of life left with plump, generous cushions and soft-but-supportive upholstery. It’s also larger than most two seaters at 160cm in width so a good option if you’re finding ‘standard’ two seaters too small for the space you have in mind.
This sofa is ‘sold as seen’ in its original vintage condition. It is structurally solid and sound with no wobbles or concerns. The original olive green leather upholstery is in excellent condition on the main frame and also on the cushions. As you would expect with a vintage sofa, there are some minor scuffs and marks but these are minimal and are not hugely noticeable. There is some wrinkling to the leather on the seat cushions (shown in photos) but again this is minor. There are no holes or tears, just slightly heavier wear – again, refer to our photos for close-ups. The finishing fabric underneath the cushions is also in good condition. There is a minor snag on the panel behind the back cushions but this doesn’t show, nor is it likely to deteriorate further.
We’ve tried to accurately describe the condition of this piece but you would be very welcome to come and view it. Just get in touch.
