Danish Midcentury ERAN ‘ Matador’ Black Leather Armchair
An attributed Danish design classic – the iconic ‘Matador’ sofa designed by Aage Christiansen for ERAN in the 1960s. So called because of those expansive, sweeping arms, it has a perfectly tilted bac and it’s superbly comfortable sprung-front. Its profile is low, lean and masculine, with a generous seat depth that makes it really loungey with bags of vintage charm. Destined to become someone’s favourite chair, it will add instant classic cool to any room.
These is a used, vintage chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and the black leather nourished. It’s soft and supple. There are some wrinkles and scuffs to the upholstery but these are minimal. The finishing canvas under the leather cushions is also in good condition. A discreet leather repair has been made to the bottom front corner – a small tear that has been professionally repaired – please refer to our close up photo. It’s not particularly noticeable. The frame is structurally sound and sturdy and the teak legs are in excellent condition. Overall, this vintage piece is in very good order. Please refer to our photos for an accurate sense of the condition.
