Danish Midcentury Black Leather Three Seat Sofa
A fine example of Danish midcentury design that combines sharp, good looks with maximum comfort. This black leather three seater sofa is in great shape. As well as its exceptional comfort, its stand-out feature is undoubtedly those glorious sloping arms, creating just the right support for a weary elbow. Low and lean, this sofa has a fantastic silhouette from all sides. It’s clean-cut style means it will mix and match with other seating from different periods too.
This stylish midcentury sofa, dating from the 1960’s, was imported directly from Denmark. It’s in great shape and ready for a new home and the next 20 years of use. Sitting on six teak legs and with low profile, it’s a piece that doesn’t command lots of space or attention. It won’t intrude. It has a separate sprung unit underneath its seat cushions, giving extra bounce and adding to its considerable comfort.
This sofa is ‘sold as seen’ in its original vintage condition. It is structurally solid and sound – there are great ‘bones’ underneath. The original black leather upholstery is in excellent condition on the main frame and also the back cushions. As you would expect the seat cushions have taken the brunt of the wear and tear through use – we would say they are in good overall condition. There is some wrinkling and cracking (shown in photos) but this is minor and there are no holes or tears, just heavier wear. The finishing fabric underneath the cushions is also in excellent condition. We have cleaned and nourished the leather thoroughly, and so browse through the photos to get a good sense of the excellent overall condition of the sofa.
