Compact Vintage Oak Bureau
This little mid-century bureau is unusual… it has a compact and slim-line design with a shallow pull-down writing desk so would be ideal for a child’s room or for a home work station that’s particularly discreet. It dates from the 1960s we believe and although no maker’s mark, we believe it’s British in origin. It’s well made in oak and features a double sliding door lower cupboard with a fixed shelf, as well as pigeon holes for extra storage in the top section. And the pretty brass plate handles and lock comes with the original key!
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good, used condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned and polished. The interiors are clean and tidy. The lower doors slide in their runners with ease, and the pull-down door of the top section which creates a small writing platform, opens and closes well. The original key is supplied, and the lock and brass pull handle are in good order. The exterior wood carries some light knocks, scuffs and a few water marks here and there.
