Antique Austrian 1930’s J&J Kohn & Mundus Bentwood Carver Chair

Such a handsome chair that dates from the early 20th century and was made by Austrian furniture maker, J&J Kohn & Mundus Ltd. They made various bentwood chairs, mainly destined for the cafes of Vienna and beyond, and most designs have their signature embossed seat. Beautifully made and with an elegant design, they look fantastic in modern kitchens and dining spaces. This stately carver also works as a stand-alone piece, perhaps for a hall way or snug. A fine, antique chair with much heritage.

Description

This is a vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. This chair has been lightly cleaned as we did not want to disturb the original aged patina which is rather beautiful. It is in overall excellent condition with no wobbles or joint concerns, but there are scuffs,, marks and faded areas as you would expect with used, vintage chair of this age. The original maker’s sticker is still affixed to the underside of the chair.
